Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Top Play Reviewer handles personal information when you read our independent guide to entertainment games, contact the editorial team, or save a browser preference. It describes the information involved, why it is used, how long it is kept, and how to ask us about it. Our guide does not offer gambling, betting, cash prizes, player accounts, or payment processing.

Effective date: 20 October 2026

1. Operator and privacy contact

Top Play Reviewer operates topplayreviewer.com as an independent editorial guide. We publish information intended to help readers understand and compare entertainment games, including how a game may suit different devices or connection conditions. The guide is informational; an external game publisher controls its own game, services, and privacy practices.

For a privacy question or request, email [email protected]. The editorial team monitors this address Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 Mountain Time, excluding Canadian statutory holidays. You may also write to Top Play Reviewer, 640 5 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2P 3G4, Canada. Please describe the request and the relevant date or correspondence so we can locate the information. Do not include passwords, financial details, or identity documents in an ordinary email.

2. Information involved in using the site

Reading public pages does not require registration. We do not ask visitors to create an account, set a password, or provide payment details. Information can nevertheless be involved when you choose to contact us, when your browser saves a preference, or when the hosting service records technical events needed to serve a page.

The contact page displays fields for your name, email address, subject, and message. Those fields let you compose an enquiry. The site form itself does not store or email submissions; do not treat pressing its submit control as delivery of a message. To reach the privacy team, use the email address above. If you write to us, the email content and the address from which you send it are available to the mailbox recipients.

The consent interface uses the browser’s local storage key topplayreviewer_consent_v1 to remember your choice on that browser. The shell also sets a first-party site_cookie_consent cookie with a one-year maximum age. These preference records are used to preserve the choice, not to build an advertising profile. Clearing browser storage or cookies may remove the saved choice. The site does not currently use optional analytics or advertising storage.

When hosting infrastructure is configured to keep access or security logs, those records may include a request time, requested page, browser or device details, and network address. The precise records depend on the hosting service and its active configuration. We do not use those records to infer a visitor’s interests or to track browsing across unrelated sites.

3. Why information is used

We use information only for practical editorial and site operations. A message sent to the privacy address helps us understand and respond to your question, correct a factual or privacy concern, or keep a short record that a request was handled. Browser preference storage keeps the consent choice you made so the interface can respect it on a later visit. Necessary technical records, if maintained by the host, can help deliver requested pages and investigate unusual activity that affects availability or security.

We do not plan to use contact details for behavioural advertising, sell them, or send promotional mail merely because someone has contacted us. A separate, clear request would be needed before using an address for a purpose beyond the conversation, where applicable law requires that choice.

5. Service providers and external links

Our hosting provider may process technical request information to deliver the site and maintain its infrastructure. The provider of the editorial mailbox processes messages so the team can receive and answer them. Access is limited to people and services that need the information for those tasks. Providers may handle information in more than one country under their own operational arrangements; we do not promise that all processing occurs in Canada.

We do not plan to sell contact information. Information may also be disclosed where we reasonably need to comply with a binding legal requirement, protect a person’s rights, or investigate a credible security incident. Any such disclosure should be limited to what the situation requires.

Our reviews and guides may link to an external game or publisher. Following a link takes you to a separate service with its own operator, terms, cookies, and privacy notice. We do not control what that service collects. Review its notices before creating an account, installing software, or sharing information there. A link is provided for reader convenience and does not mean that this policy applies to the destination.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep information only as long as it serves the purpose for which it was collected, subject to any applicable legal or security need. Direct email enquiries are normally retained for up to 12 months after the conversation is resolved, then deleted from the active mailbox or reduced to a brief record where needed to document follow-up. A correction or privacy-request record may be retained for up to 24 months after completion so the team can explain what action was taken.

The consent preference remains in the browser until you clear it, replace it with a different choice, or site code changes it; it has no planned expiry timer in local storage. The associated cookie has a maximum age of 31,536,000 seconds, after which the browser should expire it. Where controlled hosting logs exist, the target retention period is 30 days. A log may be kept longer when it relates to an active security investigation or a legal obligation, and should be removed when that reason ends.

These periods concern records under our control. They do not imply that a message entered into the site’s contact form is stored or delivered by that form. Copies retained by your own email provider or an external linked service are governed by that provider’s settings and policies.

7. Safeguards and visitor precautions

We use proportionate safeguards for the limited information involved in the guide. Access to the editorial mailbox is restricted to people handling relevant correspondence, and access should be reviewed when responsibilities change. Hosting services may apply technical controls to protect their infrastructure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise that a message will never be intercepted or that an incident is impossible.

You can reduce what a message reveals by keeping it focused on the question. Never send passwords, payment card details, banking information, or identity documents in an enquiry. If you believe sensitive information was sent accidentally, contact us promptly so we can consider appropriate deletion or other steps.

8. Access, correction and complaints

Depending on the law that applies, you may have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it, ask us to correct inaccurate details, or request deletion. You may also be able to withdraw consent or raise a concern about how information was handled. These rights can be subject to exceptions, such as information we must retain to meet a legal obligation or protect another person’s rights.

Send your request to [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We aim to acknowledge a request within five business days and to respond or explain the next steps within 30 days. Some requests may take longer where the law permits an extension; if that applies, we will explain the reason and expected timing. We may ask for proportionate details to confirm that a request concerns your information, but will avoid collecting more than needed for that check.

If our response does not resolve your concern, reply to the privacy team and explain what remains outstanding. You may also contact the privacy regulator with jurisdiction over your circumstances, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, as applicable. We do not require you to contact us first where the law gives you a direct complaint route.

9. Younger visitors

This guide covers entertainment games and does not offer gambling, betting, or cash prizes. Its editorial content is intended for a general audience, but game suitability varies. Parents and guardians should review each external game’s age rating, account requirements, and privacy terms before a child visits or uses it. The external publisher sets and enforces its own age rules.

We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If a parent, guardian, or young visitor believes a child has sent personal information to our editorial mailbox, contact [email protected]. We will review the message and take reasonable steps to remove information that should not be retained, subject to applicable law and any need to preserve a limited record of the request.

10. Updates to this policy

This policy is effective 20 October 2026. We may revise it when our operations, the site’s features, or applicable privacy requirements change. A material revision will be published here with an updated effective date so readers can identify what changed. If a new optional purpose requires consent, we will request a renewed choice where required rather than treating continued browsing as permission. The current page is the version that applies to information use from its effective date, subject to any rights or requirements that apply by law.

Common privacy questions

Does submitting the contact form send my message?

No. The visible form provides fields for composing a question, but it does not store or email a submission. To contact the privacy team, send an email to [email protected]. Do not include sensitive credentials or financial information.

What happens if I reject optional cookies?

The guide and its essential navigation remain available. The current consent choice is saved as a browser preference so the interface can remember it. Optional analytics and advertising storage are not currently used by this site.

How do I ask for a copy or correction?

Email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject. Explain whether you seek access, correction, deletion, or another action. We aim to acknowledge the request within five business days and respond within 30 days.

Does this policy cover a linked game?

No. An external game or publisher has its own operator and privacy practices. Read its notices before sharing information, registering, or installing anything; this policy applies to Top Play Reviewer’s site operations.
